Sean "Diddy" Combs' family is defending the jailed mogul following a report about his prison behavior that they claim is "completely false."

After TMZ published a Nov. 7 article about Combs allegedly making and consuming alcohol at New Jersey's FCI Fort Dix, a low-security prison where the 56-year-old was transferred in late October, a spokesperson for his family pushed back against the allegation.

"The rumors claiming Mr. Combs was caught with alcohol are completely false. He's taking this healing journey seriously and staying focused on growth and accountability," Juda S. Engelmayer said in a statement to the Asbury Park Press, part of the USA TODAY network.

1 / 11Diddy sentencing: See the end of the music mogul's legal battle as it wraps up in court

Janice Combs, mother of Sean "Diddy" Combs, arrives at court in New York City for the sentencing hearing for Sean "Diddy" Combs, after the music mogul was convicted on charges of transportation to engage in prostitution.U.S. District Court Judge Arun Subramanian is expected to issue a ruling on Combs' prison sentence on Oct. 3, 2025, in Manhattan court after attorneys for the disgraced hip-hop mogul and United States prosecutors weigh in on the time he should serve.

"His only goal is to get back to his family—and he’s not jeopardizing that for anything."

A similar message was shared on Combs' X account Nov. 9, but is no longer available.

Reached by the Asbury Park Press, a spokesperson for Fort Dix said, "We have no knowledge of this information. Further, we would not be able to disclose any information pertaining to internal inmate matters. It would not be public information."

Combs is serving a 50-month prison sentence for his conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

In a letter to the judge ahead of his sentencing, Combs said he got sober "for the first time in 25 years," has been attending therapy and started a mentorship program for his fellow inmates.

He's scheduled to be released from federal custody on May 8, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website; this date could change depending on time served and good behavior.

In an Oct. 6 letter to Judge Arun Subramanian, Combs' attorneys argued that the New Jersey facility would maximize "family visitation and rehabilitative efforts" and offer "educational and occupational programs."
