Jimmy Kimmel was not expecting to be dragged into Donald Trump and Trevor Noah’s beef. **
On Monday’s episode of *Jimmy Kimmel Live*, the late-night* *host expressed his surprise at Trump randomly dissing him while discussing whether or not he would sue Noah over a Jeffrey Epstein-related joke he made at the 2026 Grammys.**
“That is a Grammy that every artist wants almost as much as Trump wants Greenland," Noah quipped at the event. "Which makes sense, I mean, because Epstein’s island is gone, he needs a new one to hang out on with Bill Clinton."

In his opening monologue, Kimmel explained that “President Dementia” spoke with reporters at the White House on Monday about the ceremony and “a joke that Trevor Noah made at his expense.” **
The footage then cut to a clip that featured Trump describing Noah as “a lightweight” who did a “terrible job” hosting the Grammys. Although, Trump added, “I would say, not as bad as Jimmy Kimmel, but pretty close.”

The unexpected barb left Kimmel flabbergasted. “How did I get in there!?” he exclaimed. “I was at home last night minding my own business! Boy, I really got up his ass.” **
The comedian also acknowledged that Trump even included him in his original 1 a.m. Truth Social post threatening legal action against Noah in response to the joke, writing in part, “The host, Trevor Noah, whoever he may be, is almost as bad as Jimmy Kimmel at the Low Ratings Academy Awards."
Kimmel has hosted the Oscars four times: 2017, 2018, 2023, and 2024. His last time helming the ceremony broke viewership records.
“Let me say something: Donald Trump somehow has time to watch every award show and hates them all,” Kimmel commented. “He doesn’t like any of them! No one I know watches more award shows than Donald Trump.”

However, he would be open to hosting the ceremony once again — especially if Melania Trump’s self-titled documentary is nominated on the evening. “Mark my words right now: if *Melania* gets nominated for an Oscar, I will host that show whether they ask me to or not,” Kimmel declared. “I will insist on it!”
In his Truth Social post, Trump called Noah’s joke “false and defamatory” and claimed that he had “never been to Epstein Island,” the alleged location where young girls and women were trafficked and abused. Clinton and Trump have both denied any wrongdoing and have not been charged with any crimes related to Epstein. **
The politician also indicated that he would soon be filing a lawsuit against Noah.
“It looks like I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an M.C., and suing him for plenty$,” Trump continued. He later added, “Get ready Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you!”
