Taylor Frankie Paul is opening up about recent challenges.

On Sunday, Apr. 5, which is also Easter Sunday, Paul shared how her faith has helped her get through the last 40 days of her life. In Christianity, the number 40 is often symbolic of a period of trial and hardship before the fulfillment of God's promises.

"The last 40 days felt like hell on earth," the reality star wrote on Instagram. "Through every panic attack I prayed for strength as I could feel my body breaking down and out from the distress of it all. And HE sent just that in various ways along with so many undeniable signs saying 'I am with you' which I can’t wait to share that part."

"I’ve prayed since I was young and never strayed away because I believe he wants us to ask for help especially during our lowest points," she continued. "However, instead of just asking I switched over to thanking him at the end of each day no matter how low I felt."

The accompanying video shows photos of Paul looking distressed as well as Bible passages, encouraging texts from friends and family, and journal entries.

In March, a spokesperson for the Draper City Police Department in Utah confirmed that there is an open “domestic assault investigation” regarding Paul and her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen related to incidents that allegedly occurred in February 2026.

The spokesperson confirmed “allegations have been made in both directions” and that “contact was made with involved parties on [Feb] 24th and 25th,” but declined to share any further details.

Hulu paused filming of season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives due to the ongoing investigation. Shortly, after, ABC pulled the plug on Paul's season of The Bachelorette after TMZ released a never-before-seen video that appeared to show her assaulting Mortensen back in 2023.

Paul also temporarily lost custody of her 2-year-old son with Mortensen, and the pair have a court date scheduled for Apr. 7.

After Paul's season of The Bachelorette was cancelled, the reality star broke her silence via a statement from her representation.

“Taylor is very grateful for ABC’s support as she prioritizes her family’s safety and security. After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm,” the statement read. “There are too many women who are suffering in silence as they survive aggressive, jealous ex-partners who refuse to let them move on with their lives. Taylor has remained silent out of fear of further abuse, retaliation, and public shaming. She is currently exploring all of her options, seeking support, and preparing to own and share her story.”

If you or someone you know has been a victim of domestic violence, help is available 24 hours a day through the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233.
