A Man on the Inside season 2 premieres on Nov. 20

Ted Danson is about to help Max Greenfield find his $400 million laptop — and things are getting "juicy" in the process.

On Tuesday, Nov. 4, Netflix debuted the trailer for season 2 of A Man on the Inside, which stars Danson, 77, as an in-the-works private investigator named Charles Nieuwendyk.

In the comedy's newest installment, which arrives a year after the series first premiered, Charles is assigned with helping Wheeler College president Jack Berenger (Max Greenfield) crack a case and must go undercover as a college professor, per a synopsis from Netflix.

The trailer kicks off with Charles begging for a "real PI case," when one just magically falls into his lap thanks to Greenfield's character's stollen computer. "Juicy," Charles says with a smirk.

"I will be undercover as the new professor," Charles says, speaking into a recording device while trekking the college campus. "Every faculty member could be a suspect."

The suspects in question include "multi-billionaire" Brad Vinick (Gary Cole), as music teacher Mona (Mary Steenburgen) tells Charles that he looks "like a spy" in his trench coat, which he calls a "ridiculous assertion." Tensions eventually heat up between Charles and Mona, as she leans in for a kiss at one point in the trailer, although Charles insists she's "just one of the suspects."

"You cannot be in a relationship with someone you're lying to," Stephen McKinley Henderson's Calbert Graham tells Charles.

The rest of the trailer follows Charles in his efforts to "save Wheeler College," as he somehow falls into a pool while riding a scooter — apparently getting bit by a turtle as a result.

Per the season's synopsis, Charles' potential romantic partner's "zest for life awakens feelings he thought he’d buried after the passing of his wife" and now he must decide if he's "ready to open his heart again."

"And more importantly, has he fallen for the very criminal he's been sent to unmask," it asks.

Season 2's cast is rounded out by Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Lilah Richcreek Estrada, Stephanie Beatriz, Michaela Conlin, Lisa Gilroy, Madison Hu, Sam Huntington, Jason Mantzoukas, Constance Marie, Linda Park, Mary Steenburgen, David Strathairn and Jill Talley.

A Man on the Inside first hit Netflix in November 2024, following Charles as a retired professor who loses his wife and finds his way into the unorthodox new hobby of PI work. The series was based on Maite Alberdi's 2020 documentary, The Mole Agent.

Speaking to PEOPLE about the role last year, Danson said that the show may have "serious overtones," but keeps to its "very funny premise."

"There's something inherently funny about a 76-year-old man who is a [retired] college professor, his life shut down, his daughter's worried, so she says, 'Get a project,' and he happens to whimsically find a project where he becomes an undercover spy in a retirement home," he said.

A Man on the Inside season 1 is now streaming on Netflix, while season 2 premieres on Nov. 20.
