Dancing with the Stars, cohosted by Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, with judges Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba and Derek Hough, returned for Week 7 as the nine remaining celebrities and their professional partners got into the spooky spirit with eerie makeovers and chilling routines on “Halloween Night” as they competed for this season’s Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.
This week the judges were joined by two-time Mirrorball champion Cheryl Burke, who returned to the ballroom as a guest judge, as Jen Affleck, Jordan Chiles, Alix Earle, Dylan Efron, Danielle Fishel, Elaine Hendrix, Robert Irwin, Whitney Leavitt and Andy Richter dance either the Argentine Tango, Jazz, Viennese Waltz, Paso Doble, or Contemporary.
But before the dancing began, Alfonso announced that Elaine was not in the ballroom. She was at the hospital getting checked out because she had injured herself that morning. Even so, she and her partner Alan Bersten were still allowed to continue on and a video of their last rehearsal was shown for the judges to score. The doctor had given her the greenlight to compete next week if she made it through elimination, which she did.

Then, it was the return of the dance marathon, “Dance Monster-thon.” The remaining eight couples in the ballroom took the floor at the same time, first dancing a Hustle and then the Lindy Hop. The judges tapped out couples from the marathon, one at a time. Couples earned additional bonus points based on how long they remained in the dance marathon, and the last couple standing was crowned king and queen of “Dance Monster-thon.” Bonus points from the dance marathon were added to the judges’ scores from the first round of dance to determine a final combined leaderboard of the night.

The highest individual score of the night was Alix Earle and her pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy who danced a tango to “bury a friend” by Billie Eilish. She received her first 10s of the season. Derek called her dance “chilling, intense, fantastic;” Cheryl said, “The tango is full of fire and passion, and you did all that,” and Bruno added, “drop dead good.”
Robert Irwin was a close second with a 38 for his Argentine Tango with partner Witney Carson. Bruno said, “You literally killed it.” Carrie Ann added, “You were in control of that dance. That was an amazing delivery of a great piece of choreography.”
But the total score for the night included the Monster-Thon scores, and adding that in, the top score of the night was still Alix and Val, who ended up with a total of 43. But it did move Whitney and Mark into second place with a total score of 42, while Robert and Witney moved to third place with a total score of 41.
